Nachum Ish Gamzu

In Chagigah we find:

sounds like there is room to say that there is an essential link between darshening "es" and being NIGZ.

  1. Oh, nachum ish gam zu - okay, I get it. Certainly if everything is good, everything has a reason, no.

  3. Rabbi Bech will correct me if I'm wrong, but he is asking that from the fact that the gemara is stressing -all of sudden specifically in terms of darshaning "es"- that learning under nachum ish gam zu for 22 years is responsible for Rabbi Akiva being able to explain one of Nachum Ish Gam Zu's explanations b/c he darshaned every "es" in the Torah must perforce teach us that NIGZ must be some type of paradigm for darshaning "es".
And I offered the simple observation that a person who sees that everything is good, realizes that everything has a reason (that's the main explanation of the perspective behind seeing even the bad as good, especially in the classic NIGZ story); and thus there must be a reason behind every "es" as well. Moreover, a person who sees the good in everything, sees that everything is connected - and the "es" are connectors throughout the Torah.

    Tzvi
