A horrendous Chillul Hashem. As of now, there are special places in Hell for those who violate the issur of ono'as ha'ger. Hopefully they will do teshuvah before it is too late...
How do you explain gedolim meeting him like this? And how do you handle it? And how does it make you feel about the gedolim that did meet with him and give him honor?
"not relevant to this post, nor to anything ever written on this blog, nor to me personally"
It is sort of relevant to this post in that the establishment is giving great honor to lowlives. I do understand however that not everyone wants to incur the wrath of the OU by allowing such scandalous revelations on their website. I invite Rabbi Bechhofer to check out what I wrote.
Why are you dragging Rav Eisenstein shlit"a into your angry tirade here? Leave your hatred of others for other occasions -- that they perhaps have something to do with. R. Eisenstein has nothing to do with this story (or with Tropper for that matter.)
Secondly, you wrote "Hopefully they will do teshuvah before it is too late..." Perhaps Tropper did teshuva?
Rabbi Eisenstein had everything to do with Tropper making inroads in Israel. They were virtually inseparable.
And "Ben Torah" seems to have missed the conditions for teshuva as laid out by all the poskim. Tropper has not done teshuva as he denies his sins that were caught on tape. The tape was sent by the Badatz of the Eidah Chareidis in Israel to a Hollywood studio for authentication. Tropper signed for the Monsey beis din in the presence of a lawyer that he would leave town. Instead, he is going back on his word, pilfered the bank accounts of the yeshiva that ousted him and has gone to arkaos without a heter. Even R' Reuvein Feinstein who formerly backed him has put out a letter against him.
For all we know, the reports of Tropper meeting with gedolim was planted by him, himself. He spoke at some obscure BM,thats a long way from the fress fests he hosted at the inbal and kibbutz lavi
Why did Nochum Eisenstein get involved with Tropper in the first place? Has he issued an apology? Why did he not do any research into who this menuval was? Is he bigger Daas Torah than R"Elya Svei who 25 yrs ago wanted no part of Tropper and had him pegged as a low life, philandering menuval?
Rabbi Bechoffer, I have been following this debate and your point on your video shiurim. I just have a question.
What is the difference between the case in the gemora where the rabbis observe that a woman would rather be married to a jerk than be single therefore we poskin the beit din cannot issue her a get through shlichut, because it is not considered a דבר טוב שלפניו and the case on shobbos where there is a body trapped under rubble chazal say that one cannot remove the rubble if there is an absence of a pulse or breathing.
In the case of the body, we do hesitate today to try and save the person because we have more options than they did. We do not say that what they said has the status of a din so we mus't overturn it even though we have a different understanding and options than chazal had with medicine. However with the case of a woman in want of a divorce we do say this even though we have different observations of women today?
The defintion of death is physiological and technological - we can observe these phenomena in the same way that Chazal did and revise accordingly.
The desire to be married is psychological, perhaps even spiritual. We have no way of knowing how Chazal made such determinations, and therefore lack the capacity to definitively reassess them.
The Long Beach rosh yeshiva Rav Feigelstock was also an early opponent of Tropper. He was later joined by Rav Bloch in Monsey, then Rav Sternbuch and the entire Badatz, then many others.
For certain reasons, Tropper is still being protected by Chaim Berlin, South Fallsburg and some corrupt figures in Monsey and Israel.
For anyone who read my original post before it was deleted. Someone has brought to my attention that an apology may be owed to one of the OU officials criticized in what may be a case of unbelievable coincidence. The story about the other OU official I attacked is unquestionable.
There may be two rabbis from the same city with the same name. If there are I apologize to the one from the OU. They would both be living in the same city and both affiliated with the Young Israel movement. One was the rabbi of he local Young Israel shul at the time of his arrest for a perverted act. The other would currently be the rabbi of the "Anonymous City" Synagogue and an official of YICR, a division of National Council of Young Israel.
Regardless, the one from the OU is still an enabler of convicted child molester Baruch Lanner.

E-man - How do you explain gedolim meeting him like this?
ReplyDeleteEasily explained. It's obvious that they aren't gedolim! Gedolim wouldn't meet with a menuval.

ReplyDeleteThe letter from Rav Feinstein is scanned into this PDF file.
Rav Feinstein is clear that Tropper cannot take back his resignation and that he has no right to loot the yeshiva's bank accounts.
The Long Beach rosh yeshiva Rav Feigelstock was also an early opponent of Tropper. He was later joined by Rav Bloch in Monsey, then Rav Sternbuch and the entire Badatz, then many others.

Who is Norman Lamm?
Are you referring to Rabbi Norman Lamm?
Sigh.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good thing he doesn't believe in an old universe. Then these same rabbonim would have put him in cherem!
