Zoom Shiur on Tisha B'Av, 1:30pm EDT
Why Do We Say
Mizmor L'Todah
on Tisha B'Av?
Yosef Gavriel Bechhofer is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
Topic: Why Do We Say Mizmor L'Todah on Tisha B'Av?
Time: Jul 30, 2020 01:30 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada)
The Levush says that Mizmor L'Todah should be recited in a joyous melody because it expresses our gratitude over Hashem's ongoing chesed with us. It would seem inappropriate to recite it on any fast day, let alone Tisha B'Av. Yet we do recite it. How is its message compatible with the spirit of the day?

I cannot see the Levush in your sources. Would you mind adding it? (I don't have it at home nor elsewhere and apparently it's out of stock...)
ReplyDeleteI didn't see it inside either. It is cited in the Otzar HaTefillos Siddur, here: https://hebrewbooks.org/pdfpager.aspx?req=57995&st=&pgnum=203
