  1. Very interesting discussion!

Rav Kivelevich asked what possible halachic questions could arise requiring the Sanhedrin's vote prior to going to war. Any milchemet reshus by its very definition raises issues whether risking the lives of our soldiers is halachicly justified, not to mention whether santioning killing of the enemy is allowed. These are certainly halachic issues just like any other and require a psak.

About R. Deri, in the days folllowing his resigning in order to take advantage of the legal loophole so no status of moral turpitude could be set against him, it was repeated countless times in the media that this was a smart move by Deri so she could come back to the Knessest as soon as the next election cycle began. This was open and no secret at all. There is no room to be surprised that he followed through with that plan.

  2. Poor discussion. Bechoffer typically in la la land when it comes to Israel
For you the worst sort of "enemy of my enemy is my" inevitable ally

Untouched by actuality and developments by his own wishful whining desires, although they have limited validity and even concurrence in the vacuum of space

And wrong on so much as usual once a bit afield eg Canada NotWithstanding Clause can be renewed over & over
    Iirc
R Herzog declared back then that the date of establishment of the Bagatz should have been a day of mourning
    Oh,
And the Presidident of the Bagatz is entitled to change the panel presiding for any issue to fit her proclivities

  3. Pull out the old journals that contrived to abrogate to the Knesset somehow the role of Melech
"When there is an.. will ,there is a way"
Now you, with sleight of hand will abrogate all and sundry to the Bagatz
What if they are solely non jews??
