Taryag

I don't make a comission, but I would be happy if you bought [and learned] this volume, of which I am one of the editors! We are currently doing the mitzvos from the beginning of the Torah up to the Dibros - I'm working on gid hanasheh.

  1. Looks great. Will there be a Hebrew version (presumably in more depth)?

  2. There will be a Hebrew version, but more or less the same - the depth of the English is pretty deep.

  3. Hmmm....

I was not aware that it is only according to Chabad that we have:

"one torah, one people, 613 mitzvos"

May I assume you are being facetious?

  4. seriously does sound chabad/outreach inspired. from the ads i saw, it looks like a serious marketing effort across schools/factions, etc. looks like a nice project.

sorry for the facetiousness. the advertising made me a little grumpy. it is an impressive effort, but maybe "Greatest breakthroughs in jewish history" is an unnecessary guzma? perhaps it will rank lower than chasimas hashas, shulchan aruch, etc. i dont think this rhetoric is having a healthy effect on our society or our kids.

  5. Maybe I haven't read enough about this project, but which list of 613 does the project use and why?

  6. The one of the Sefer HaChinuch, as the most widespread in common use.

  7. It's a beautiful sefer and an exellent work. Alas, I hope your editorial contribution was limited to content as the formatting and proofeading of the initial volume are atrocious! I hope this is addressed in fute volumes.

  8. Thank you - indeed, alas, I had nothing to do with formatting and proofreading! But I assume that each volume will be better and better!
