Velikovsky's reconstruction of ancient chronology in this and other works may have merit, but his frequent attempts to explain away miracles (such as the splitting of the sea) as natural events are off-putting to a believing Jew.
Once the miraculous intervenes in the natural, would not there be some restrospective natural explanation?
As camouflage? That would be plausible, since it leaves some margin for our bechira.
Not necessarily as camouflage. Just because that's the way it is.
