With downloads approaching the million mark-and an archival library numbering in the thousands, the Yeshiva of Newark Podcast has been striving to continuously upgrade our content, and professionalize our audio sound, along with altering approaches in light of much appreciated listener feedback.

A niche has been carved out that resonates with many on the wide spectrum of Observant Jews.

This explains why we continually rank high in independent on-line lists of top Yeshiva podcasts.

This proud edifice is in real danger of toppling and disappearing.

We need the help of our listeners to continue to record and edit, and to promote a product that has been a balm and instructive to so many.

Just 36 dollars, a minimum donation, from a thousand of you out there will keep usafloat as a New Ark of straight, intelligent, and humorous discussion, lectures, debate and inquiry - while the destructive waters of ignorance and politics crash around us.

  1. Re: the last part of the episode, I would have thought that in milchemes mitzvah we do *not* ask the question. Forgive me for not remembering which Chazal this is, but in "ki tetze l'milchama al oivecha", the question is asked why does the Torah bother to specify al oivecha - does one go to war against his friends? And the answer is, we must see the enemy as an enemy and nothing more, because when we start asking questions of morality, we lose the necessary fervor to secure victory. Thank you for another great episode, I welcome your response!

    1. One is not supposed to be lenient with the combatants. It does not reference non-beliigerents. On the contrary, we have the remarkable halacha to not impose a hermetic siege.

  2. It seems to be on again, but in a different venue, and a different format. Maybe they listened to Rischa. :-) www.theyeshivaworld.com/news/israel-news/2318717/thousands-expected-at-monumental-atzeres-tefillah-in-lakewood-to-support-acheinu-bnei-yisroel.html

  3. Do we have any published teshuvos from Chareidi Gedolei Torah over the past year opining on whether this is a מלחמת מצוה and if so what is the appropriate halachic action to take?
