Toras Purim in the Three Weeks 5775: Molech

If Amazon et al can hold "Black Friday in July" we can hold Toras Purim in the Three Weeks.

So, a brief he'oro that requires thought and expansion:

When the Gemara in Sanhedrin 64b describes the avodah zarah  of Molech, it says that it was K'mashvarta d'Puria. Rashi explains that they would not walk with the child but jump over a pit filled with fire, from rim to rim "just as the children jump on Purim."

Hmm...

  1. R' Asher Weiss suggests that it's the inversion of kafa aleihem har k'gigis. One might have thoiugh Klal Yisrael accepted the Torah only because of the threat of the mountain with lightening/fire suspended above their heads, kah mashma lan we jump above the fire, we are above that.

  2. I was thinking more along the lines of Korach. Likutei Halachos Hil. Netilas Yadayim 6:6 says that on Purim Reb Nachman had in mind to fix the sin of Machlokes Korach. He said this was a "sod muflag" that is alluded to in the pasuk ו'אם מ'פאת פ'ניו י'מרט ר'אשו קרח. The roshei teivos Purim followed by the word Korach!
