The Doleh U'Mashkeh says he asked R' Chaim Kanievsky if someone who has negative thoughts about another person needs to ask him mechilah. RCK said that it may well be so.

  1. Does this relate to what you said in your sefer about Ayin Horoh? Also, does the Yerushalmi have as much about Ayin Horoh as the Bavli?

  2. It might, but not necessarily - it could be that whether or not it is me'orer kitrug, in and of itself it is a pgam in myself, which is fixed by requesting mechilah.

  3. I can't give you the exact reference but someone once showed me a sefer with letters from R. Yankele of Pshavorsk (Antwerp), where he writes that he never considered it an avero to think (honestly) about someone in a negative way.

  4. Not familiar with R' Yankele of Pshavorsk, but I assume that there is a difference between negative and perjorative thinking.
