Angry Israelis Take Matters Into Own Hands After Peleg Blocks Road
I try to avoid political posts, but it must be remarked that evidently there is a dearth of responsible adults - rabbis and parents - in the Peleg HaYerushalmi.
this is not politics - these are hooligans. Hopefully some org like the Agudah would come out and say this is not the way jews - especially yeshiva guys - should act. This is not neturi karta.
Sure go ahead and betray your people. This is Israel, not Monsey. Do you have a draft in Monsey? No, so you don't know what these people are up against. In Israel, nothing but extreme gestures gets anyone's attention.
This registration has been in effect since the State was founded with no problems. The Peleg Y-mi is trying to change the status quo for no apparent reason other than to demonstrate disregard for other Jews.
There's a simple solution to this problem, both in the US and in Israel: They only do this because they know drivers have to stop for them, so legislate that if anyone going about his lawful business finds his way deliberately blocked by people, and they refuse a warning to disperse, he may drive through them and all damage that results to them shall be regarded as self-inflicted.

ReplyDeleteTrue.
DeleteAt what point is it acceptable to question daas Torah?
ReplyDeleteAt what point is it not? The point of Da'as Torah is that the Torah gives one more da'as. It does not render one infallible or omniscient.
DeleteSo if I decide that a rabbi is in error or ignorant of certain material information I can disagree with him.
ReplyDeleteIs that a chiddush?
DeleteEven the Satmar Rebbe condemned this.
ReplyDeleteWhy "even?"
