Thank you for taking the time to write about the teshuva of Rav Moshe Zt'l. As one of the participants in the conversation, I was feeling beleaguered in presenting the general position which I was arguing.
I therefore appreciate your clarification of the topic, as well as the option to further discuss it via e-mail.
Baruch, you should not have felt beleaguered. I hope that the discussion did not get too heated for you, but realize that I was not debating in the spirit of rancor (and I can certainly vouch for Chardal as well).
I meant more lonely than "beleaguered". I did not feel that the exchange was rancorous at all; I appreciate that it was kept to ideas, not people. However, I was at a point, the only one arguing the other position.
I presented my ideas "ad shyadi magaas"; I was not comfortable enough with my familiarity with the sources referred to by Professor Kaplan(research of Professor Ta-Shema) , and l'havdil, with mainstream hashkafos to engage in further dialogue, so I left it in the capable hands of Rabbi Bechoffer.
I am writing an e-mail to R' Bechoffer, so as to crystallize certain points which I had made; Rabbi Bechoffer is welcome to post it on this thread if he wishes. However, it might be a few weeks before I get to finishing it due to my various obligations.
