  1. I believe the Chazon Ish holds there is psak in hashkafa, and has srong words for those who try to treat hashkafa differently.

  2. The link in the aish blog for Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan's lecture on the age of the universe does not work (http://www.lulu.com/product/file-download/the-age-of-the-universe---a-torah-true-perspective/11191032?productTrackingContext=search_results/search_shelf/center/2)

Is there perhaps another link to it?

  3. A point of clarification. What is meant by the term "hashkafa?" Does it really mean "agada?". If not can you provide an example of a hashkafa which has no halachik ramifications. (I spoke w/ E. Ginsparg who asked be to clarify).

Proves quite decisively that there is Psak in hashkafa. R' Aryeh Kaplan was profoundly mistaken.

Proves quite decisively that there is no Psak in Hashkafa. Rabbi Shapiro is profoundly mistaken.

  7. Also, Rabbi Kaplan cites a number of sources in his Handbook of Jewish Thought Vol. 1 in 12:13 and note 31 there.
