(It's a *far* smaller scale, but there's the Igros about an apartment building whose machinery (furnace? Water heater? I forget) needs to be manually relit daily. At one point R' Moshe writes "if we are machmir, that would mean that nobody shomer shabbos could be an apartment landlord." Implicit is "... and that's not an acceptable outcome."
To be machmir to the point of "shomrei shabbos can't run a state" ... well you get the idea.
And no offense to the sponsors, but I'm all about milchigs for melave malka. (RYGB, do you wait 3 hours?)
You asked why the chareidi politicians prefer Netanyahu. They feel that they know how to work with him to receive the money and the army rules that are important to them. It is a given that both of those will change dramatically with the new govt considering its makeup. With Lapid, Liberman, etc., the way things have been for the chareidim as far as money and army is concerned are at risk of major change.
