"How did a movement that was supposed to be democratizing end up with a far more rigid caste system than what it was intended to replace?"
Wow. Shades of *Animal Farm*, anyone?
(Someone in Rabbi Rakefet's shiur asked similarly about the great social-justice warrior, R. Abraham Joshua Heschel, when it was just understood that Apter royalty would have more than Apter commoners.)
Are the causes of the "boy shortage" in non-Meshichist Lubavitch similar to those in the Litvish world? Boys being too picky? Leaving "center" for less observance or extremism?
Any chance a future episode could address the mantra found in many yeshivos today that "work is a *klalah*"? Perhaps discuss the debate of years past at Ner Israel between R' Dovid Kronglass zt'l and others about the value of an advanced career? Thank you!
