Davening for miracles -- story is told (please forgive me if I got any details wrong) of the parents who had a child with a severe disease. Doctors had given up hope, but the parents were still trying every quack out there. They asked R' Yaakov Kaminetsky for a bracha -- "may Hashem give you nachas from your other children." As awful as that felt at the time, at the shiva they said looking back, that helped them realize it was time to move towards acceptance.
