Scheduling Scholar in Residence/Lecturing and Eruv Consulting

Rabbi Yosef Gavriel Bechhofer
Dr. Shani M. Bechhofer

We are in the process of organizing our schedule for this coming fall and winter.
We have a large repertoire of topics and programs.

Baruch Hashem, we have been very well received in many venues, including
shuls, communal organizations, and educational institutions,
as well as hotel scholar-in-residence events and programs.

For example, this past winter we were at the Mt. Sinai Jewish Center in the Washington Heights neighborhood in Manhattan. My wife discussed the “State of Chinuch in North America,” and “Feminism and the founding of the Bais Yaakov Movement.” I spoke on “The Washington Heights Eruv Controversy,” and gave a drasha on the Shira and “Ta'amu u're'u ki tov Hashem.”

Earlier in the winter, I was at Cong. HOJMI in Calgary, Alberta where I spent Friday involved in eruv planning and design. Over Shabbos I discussed “Modern Orthodoxy or Orthodox Modernism,” and “Rabbi Samson Raphael Hirsch as a Guide for the 21st Century.”

This past year we were also individual and co-scholars in residence in West Hartford, CT; Harrisburg, PA; San Diego, CA; and the Pesach program at Niagara Falls, Ontaro,

From Rabbi Yosef Davis of

R' Yosef Gavriel does many impressive things very very well. He is a Rebbe par excellence, a community leader, an author, mentor, and a true inspiration to those striving to live a true Torah life (to name a few). I have heard first hand from his students at Ohr Somayach Monsey what a tremendous positive impact he has on their lives. He is on the front lines molding and shaping the future of Klal Yisrael. has had the zechus to record and disseminate his Torah for years to the benefit of thousands of Jews worldwide. He consistently delivers stellar shiurim that jog the mind and leave delicious food for thought. I would highly recommend getting in touch with him for your next speaking engagement or Shabbaton.

2. ERUV CONSULTING

₪  Comprehensive Checking and Re-certification
₪  Eruv-Checker Training
₪  Halachic Decision-making
₪  Community Education and Outreach

Plan, check and maintain your eruv!

Most urban and suburban eruvin in North America are of doubtful kashruth.

Some were not built properly
Some were built properly, but not maintained properly
Some were maintained properly, but the terrain has changed

Both the construction and the maintenance of urban and suburban eruvin entail complexities and complications. Numerous issues arise in the design and in the building of an eruv. Just as many issues arise over time in the ongoing upkeep of an eruv.

I am in the process of organzing my schedule for the coming fall and early winter. These are ideal times for Eruv fieldwork!

Please call or email as soon as possible to schedule consultations and on-site
