  1. In your article you write, "The Zohar calls the 613 mitzvos "Taryag Ittin" (613 suggestions). "

    While translating Ittin as "suggestions" certainly seems to fit in the context of Rav Tzadok (I haven't seen the Zohar), I'm wondering if you can give some source to confirm this translation. Could Ittim be translated as "maxim" instead, which would lead to a very different understanding than "suggestion"?

    It would seem that עטה is the Aramaic cognate for עצה, advice. For example, Shabbos 55b (H/T Jastrow):


    ארבעה מתו בעטיו של נחש, ואלו הן: בנימין בן יעקב, ועמרם אבי משה, וישי אבי דוד, וכלאב בן דוד
