Toras Purim 5783 Part 1: Havaya"h in the Megillah
In Kisvei Arizal it mentions numerous sheimos that are hinted at by roshei and sofei teivos in the Megillah, and the obligation to have them in mind. In the commentary Ma’aneh Lashon in the Chumash Simanim it says that there is a minhag to stress some of these in the reading of the Megillah. While the Pri Etz Chaim identifies twelve appearances of the Shem Havaya”h, I am focused on the one place where it appears as uninterrupted roshei teivos in the proper order, and the one in which it appears as uninterrupted sofei teivos in the proper order:
ספר
פרי עץ חיים - שער ר"ח חנוכה ופורים - פרק ו
וצריך
לכוין בשמות היוצאין מהמגלה... כ"י כלת"ה אלי"ו הרע"ה,
ס"ת יקו"ק... "יבוא "המלך "והמן "היום, ר"ת יקו"ק.
First, let’s get in some gimatriyos. "יבוא
"המלך "והמן "היום
is 276. This is the same as ויסר and, of course, is a clear reference to גדולה הסרת הטבעת. It is also the same as כבוד
is the whole point of the story
Also as, on the
one hand,כי יום נקם (see Yeshayahu 63:4), and on the other hand, למיחלים לחסדו (see Tehillim 33:18).
This is the same as במלכות ש-די and as ולעבדו בכל לבבכם ובכל נפשכם. And several other significant terms: ישועת הוי"ה and ישמח הוי"ה במעשיו. Perhaps most significantly, it is the
same as יתברר.
And, just to finish
up with the gimatriyos, the combined total is 1088, which is ונחתום בטבעת המלך (see Esther 8:8). It is also ונפלאות עד אין מספר
(see Iyov 5:9). On the other hand, it is also (Bereishis
32:26).
Most of these
connections are pretty apparent, but בעז"ה
in the next post…
